A commercial lease that has been granted for a term of three years or more will usually include a clause allowing the landlord to periodically review the rent, generally once every three to five years.
The review will assess the current market value, allowing the landlord the opportunity to increase the rent if other comparable rents in the marketplace have risen. Commercial contracts often allow only upwards revision.

We can guide you through the process of serving and responding to notices and, in the event that the new rent is not agreed upon, work with your surveyor to negotiate on your behalf to try and reach a resolution.
