Lee BailhamSolicitorHead of the Family Law Department
Lee can call on 30 years of experience as a solicitor having qualified in 1995. Initially, Lee undertook civil litigation and contentious probate work before deciding, some 25 years ago, that family law work was his calling. Lee has had the privilege of working with the some of the most senior Barrister’s (now called KC’s) in the country on his more complex cases.
The work Lee undertakes spans the entire spectrum of family law, including,
- divorce and related financial disputes between spouses;
- low to high net value finance disputes involving spousal interests in companies, commercial properties, farmland and other agricultural property;
- asset protection advice in the form of pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements;
- child arrangement disputes between separating or divorcing parents including extra-jurisdictional overseas relocation and child abduction matters;
- domestic violence cases.
Whatever the situation Lee and the Heald Law family law team apply the same meticulous professional attention to detail that all cases deserve.
Lee is dedicated to providing the best professional service to his clients, zealously protecting their interests, whilst seeking a fair solution to what are often highly emotive matters. A. Client
Some examples of Lee’s work
- Acting in a farming case involving a client who had contributed significant inherited wealth to the marriage. Ultimately securing a very favourable award from the court that recognised the inheritance, ringfencing it from the other spouse’s financial claims;
- Representing the mother in a bitter child arrangement case that involved the court finding the father responsible for extensive and consistent parental alienation aimed at damaging the mother/child relationship;
- Representing a member of the US military based in the UK in an international child abduction case;
- Acting for an insolvency practitioner and successfully recovering a high value 14th century antique cabinet hidden from his creditors by its bankrupt owner. During its history, the cabinet was used by Sir Winston Churchill at Chequers to store his cigars!
